The coast of Otranto hides a world you cannot see from land: sea caves carved into the limestone, natural arches and coves that can only be reached by boat. Our cave tour departs from the Otranto Tourist Port, first pier under the castle walls, and within minutes of sailing takes you where the coastline turns wild.

With skipper Stefano, who knows every recess of this coast, we sail towards Mulino d'Acqua Bay to admire the famous Grotta Sfondata, a rock cathedral with its vault open to the sky, then continue along the cliffs and natural arches to the emerald coves of Baia Murrune. Where sea conditions allow, some caves can be explored by swimming: an experience you will not forget.

  • Grotta Sfondata and Mulino d'Acqua Bay
  • Swimming and snorkelling in the caves (equipment included)
  • Aperitivo with typical Salento products
  • Expert skipper who knows every corner of the coast

What you will see on the tour

Grotta Sfondata with its natural skylight, the rock arches of Mulino d'Acqua Bay, the white cliffs of the Otranto coast and the emerald inlets of Baia Murrune. At every stop the skipper shares the history and legends of these places, and picks the best swimming spots based on the day's conditions.

Swimming and snorkelling in the caves

The most loved moment of the tour: masks and snorkels are included, and on the right days you can swim inside the caves, where light filters up through the water and turns everything blue. The stops are calm and suitable even for less confident swimmers: the boat always stays close and life jackets are available.

The aperitivo on board

On the way back, enjoy an aperitivo with typical Salento products and cold drinks while the sun lights up the walls of Otranto seen from the sea. On request we prepare menus for intolerances and allergies.
